I have to break Belgium apart. While I mean that I’ll do several posts I also mean that I could no sooner digest a new place intellectually than I could photograph everything I love about it. The last day I was in Belgium Mallory and I went out into her spectacularly green yard. Belgians use hedges. Some are tall and trim others overgrown and neglected. I couldn’t stop staring at them. Ideally the whole world would be miss and hedges. Instant backdrop, instant lush. Fertility, texture. These are Mallory’s. I could have photographed her doing everything and I nearly did.
